I relish the challenge and technical execution of every printing process, particularly etching. Learning and gradually exploring the time-honored techniques of past and present master printers totally engages me. The painter in me thrives in the loose, painterly explorations of monotype. Paper litho and collagraph have allowed me to layer technique over technique: etchings become the xerox plates for paper litho, or the substrate of collagraph prints. Often an etching is collaged onto the collagraph plate then with monotype techniques I create a unique print.
